  • Director of Sales, East

    Dang defies convention and categorization, and we look for people with those same qualities. Dang is a rapidly growing natural snack brand focused on bringing you unconventional culinary delights from around the globe. We named Dang after our founder’s mother, who grew up in Thailand. In 2013, we became the #1 selling coconut chip in both natural and conventional supermarkets including Whole Foods, Safeway, Sprouts, Target, Kroger, Ahold and H-E- B. Currently we are sold in over 10,000 stores nationwide.

    The Position: Position: Director of Sales, East

    The top priorities of the Director of Sales, East are to:

    • Coordinate with the VP of Sales to increase sales year over year and support each account in the region (Entire East Coast + Midwest).
    • Effectively manage and motivate regional sales teams (currently 1 full-time regional sales manager and 1 area sales manager) by setting goals and measuring success against those goals.
    • Manage brokers (Presence/Dynamic, Foodservice, C-store, Drug, distributor-specific broker groups).
    • Manage distributors to ensure appropriate inventory levels and service to our customers.
    • Successfully launch line extensions and new product lines.
    • Lead account penetration of key customers.
    • Increase per-store sales velocity by designing an appropriate promo plan for each customer and managing and analyzing trade spend.
    • Appraise non-traditional channels (C-store, foodservice), and manage strategic entry to those channels.
    • Perform customer assessments and institute changes to improve product positioning in light of market trends and competitor actions.
    • Contribute to forecasting systems for us to manage our growth.
    • Maintain regular communication and contribute to the team effort across the company

    The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can manage many tasks and has extraordinary interpersonal skills and analytical ability. They have a bias toward action, is scrappy and hungry, and has extremely high standards as well as high IQ and EQ. Working with a sense of urgency is common among Dangsters.     REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    • 5+ years of sales experience in the natural/specialty and grocery channel, selling grocery products nationally (ideally in snacks). Additional channel experience (club, foodservice, C-store, ecommerce) a plus.
    • Possesses relationships with key large account buyers (Whole Foods, Ahold, Publix, Wegmans, Wakefern) – ideally in the natural snack/dried fruit/nuts category.
    • Proven track record of maximizing sales in existing accounts / increasing same-store sales.
    • Demonstrated success in managing a national network of brokers and distributors in the natural/specialty and grocery channel.
    • Experience in effectively managing trade spend with focus on ROI.
    • Driven by analytics and data (e.g., IRI, Nielsen, Spins, retailer/distributor reports) when making decisions and presenting to key customers.
    • Experience working for a start-up / small company, and growing a brand from $10M to $25M+.
    • Experience in the launching of new products.
    • High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs.

  • VP of Marketing

    The Position: VP of Marketing

    The top priorities of the VP of Marketing are to:

    • Join exec team consisting of CEO, VP of Sales, and COO to develop and execute company strategy.
    • Create a marketing plan to build the Dang brand and oversee the development and execution of a marketing budget.
    • Manage consumer spend, ROI analysis, pricing strategy, consumer research, SKU rationalization, product portfolio analysis.
    • Manage team of 3 full time staff: Marketing Manager, Social Media Manager, Ecommerce Manager
    • Lead a team of brand ambassadors, interns, and third party contractors to drive sales and marketing strategy through demos, PR, social media influencer program, and relevant events.
    • Analyze growth opportunities using data to determine the best mix of marketing programs in store, online, etc.
    • Actively participate in new product development alongside CEO and manage multiple product lines.

    • 10+ years of marketing experience with fast-growing food brands.
    • Strong background tracking ROI on marketing programs.
    • Ridiculously good problem solving skills, verbal and written communication, negotiation, organization, teamwork, conflict resolution and leadership skills.
    • Able to get down-and-dirty and do anything a growing company needs to meet its goals.
    • Tech savvy, with a good sense of design and CPG branding.
    • Experience launching successful CPG products.
    • High proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint, Google Docs.
    • Graphic design, social media, and PR experience: a plus
    • Entrepreneurial experience: a plus

  • Operations Associate

    The Position: Operations Associate

    The Operations Associate’s Mission: To ensure that Dang’s day to day operations run smoothly.

    Responsibilities/Tactics:

    • Execute order processing, including confirming purchase orders, coordinating pickups/deliveries, issuing returns or credits, and invoicing.
    • Manage our shipping brokers and deliveries to ensure all timely and affordable delivery of product.
    • Negotiate with shipping brokers to optimize freight expense.
    • Coordinate closely with sales team or buyers in regards to purchase orders, delivery status, pricing and delivery issues, out of stocks (if applicable) in order to ensure highest levels of customer service.
    • Coordinate with Operations Manager to follow up on unauthorized deductions.
    • Prepare sales kits/product samples/marketing materials (t-shirts, flyers, coupons, etc.) to mail out our sales representatives, key buyers and consumer events.
    • Calculate monthly commissions for our sales brokers.
    • Enter bills into our internal software (Bill.com).
    • Review AR Aging and follow up with delinquent payments accordingly.
    • Perform other administrative and accounting duties as assigned.

  • Area Sales Manager – NYC

    The Position: Area Sales Manager – NYC

    We are seeking a high-performing Area Sales Manager based in the New York City area who brings significant ambition and a desire to join a winning team.

    The ideal candidate will visit key accounts in their assigned territory and work with local retail, broker, and distributor partners to achieve sales objectives. The candidate will use their relationships at store level to sell-in displays of Dang products. They will coordinate closely with the sales and marketing team to build displays around specific geo-targeted events. The position requires a self-motivated, organized, communicative, and energetic individual who lives and breathes the brand they represent.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Achieve sales goals and performance metrics
    • Develop and maintain an organized list of key accounts in the territory
    • Sell our brand to retailers in coordination with local distributors and brokers
    • Call on key accounts on an ongoing basis to implement sales team priorities
    • Enhance the business by gaining new points of distribution
    • Educate account managers and distributors on proper and effective merchandising:

    Required experience and skills:

    • 3+ years in area sales with fast-growth snack or beverage company
    • Pre-existing relationships with store-level buyers
    • Strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)
    • Creative presentation/public speaking and premium selling skills are a must
    • Innovative and creative in approaching accounts and expanding business
    • Ability to formulate account strategies and execute against them
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

  • Brand Ambassador

    The Position: Brand Ambassador

    Location: Boston, New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay Area or Seattle markets

    The Job Description: Dang Foods is searching for highly energetic and professional Brand Ambassadors to introduce consumers to the magic of coconut chips and onion chips one mouth at a time. We’re looking for individuals to be a part of a dynamic team focused on brand awareness and education. Primary focus is on conducting demos/samplings of Dang products in store and at events. In addition to interacting with consumers face to face, our ambassadors will be responsible for building relationships with the staff at store level and supporting the Dang Area Sales Manager in maximizing our brand presence in those stores.

    The Dang Brand Ambassador is charged with:
    • Creating genuine excitement about Dang
    • Understanding and sharing knowledge of the Dang and its products
    • Actively engaging consumers & store staff to spread brand awareness and build brand affinity
    Responsibilities:
    • Schedule and conduct demos/events in a professional and timely manner
    • Drive to all location sites within the area of coverage
    • Set up and break down all equipment
    • Maintain proper inventory levels during and after events
    • Provide detailed post-event report of consumer interactions, product feedback and status of Dang presence in store (stock on shelves, display locations, etc.)
    • Drop off product, swag, coupons, etc. to local grocery teams and influencers
    • Participate in an initial onboarding call as well as quarterly update calls, and stay informed regularly on the latest product & messaging updates through email

    Requirements:
    • Food/CPG demo experience (preferably at least 1 year)
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Reliable, responsible, responsive, organized

    • Passionate about healthy foods and active lifestyles
    • Able to complete job responsibilities & manage time independently but willing (and excited!) to work as part of a larger regional sales and marketing team

    • Build meaningful connections through digital correspondence: Own customer-engagement
      aspect of social platforms and e-mail
    • Assist on influencer campaigns: facilitate and track shipments, follow-up on pending posts,
      capture user-generated content
    • Collaborate with marketing team on up-coming and on-going projects: prepping product
